Project 7X Announces the Release of new
CD
Release Party and Performance is
Scheduled at Dimeto Time in Villa Park
It's been quite some time coming, but production on the new Project 7X CD
is completed. The 11 track disk is entitled "Project 7X - Volume One."
All
songs are among those that the band performs in the live show.
However, there are a few surprises.
"Most of the songs are produced just like we perform them live - with the
exception of a few overdubs and keyboard parts. But there are a couple
that are vastly different, so we're anxious to get people's reactions."
stated Scott Newton.
As for the actual songs contained on the disk, "We're keeping that under
wraps until the Release Party," says Steve Haraburda.
The Release Party has been scheduled for May 5, 2007 at Dimeto Time Bar &
Grill in Villa Park at 335 E. Kenilworth Avenue. At the event, the group will introduce the disk,
and perform their full 3-hour show. The festivities begin at 9:00pm.
Admission is a cover charge of $5.00 per person. However, from this
website, you can download a coupon to receive a $2.00 discount which can be
redeemed at the door. To download the discount coupon, please link to
the Discount
Coupon Page (PDF Format 50KB).
During the show, a number of free CDs will be given away, but copies of
the CD can be purchased at the show for a reduced price of $10.00.
After the Release Party, copies will be sold from the Project 7X Online
Store. Also, it is anticipated that the songs from the CD will be
available on ITunes by late June or early July.
Hope to see you there!!!

Project 7X in the Studio - Completing
Upcoming CD and Promotional Recordings
The
guys haven't been out in the clubs since the October 14 show at North Beach,
but they've been been busy in the studio - working on some new material as
well as finishing
tracks for their upcoming CD.
The CD, entitled "Project 7X - Volume One" features 11 songs - spanning
each year of the 1970s decade up to 1980. Appearances to promote the
CD will be announced after the first of the year.
"We really planned on having the CD ready a few months ago, but we got
sidetracked by some other projects," said Scott Newton. "We're also working
through
the details on having the album available through ITunes - and that's a
project in itself," he added.
"Volume One" will be distributed by Rubber Wombat Records, and will be
available from the 7X Store on this website.
On December 3, 7X conducted a marathon recording session in which every
song in their catalog was recorded. The nearly 7 hour session took
place at the studios of APEX Media Solutions.
"We're putting together some new promotional materials aimed at the
festival circuit next summer and a lot of the material we recorded last
Sunday will be used for that purpose. Since we didn't know yet which
material we'd be using - we just recorded it all. That was quite of a
long day," Newton explained.
The session was engineered by long time friend Greg Errandi (pictured on
the right). Thanks Greg for the heroic effort!

Project 7X on the 4th of July at Cisco
Lake Resort
The Northwoods excursion proved to be a lot of fun for Project 7X as well
as their entourage of friends and family. For photos and a video
clip from the event - visit the Media Section of
this site.
It was very unfortunate that Vern couldn't make it up North with everyone
- due to a prior commitment. But our friend Johnny DeMarco was kind
enough to sit in on drums. Thanks Johnny!
Everyone arrived Sunday July 2nd at
North Shore
Resort. Thanks to the North Shore management for putting us up!
Monday was a busy day full of boating, intertube rides and riding the wave
runners. In the evening, everyone gathered at Dale Nordby's deck for
some acoustic music by Project 7X and Dale. Later that night, a small
group ventured to nearby Paulding to see the Ghost Light.
On Tuesday, the 4th, the weather was still great so there were more water
activities.
After a great dinner and BBQ, everyone ventured over to Cisco Lake Resort
for the show. The evening began at 8:30 with Dale Nordby performing an
hour set of country, bluegrass and folk. Scott then joined Dale for a
number, and then the rest of Project 7X sat in with Dale for a few songs.
After a brief intermission, Project 7X started their part of the show.
After a few songs, at 10:00, Cisco Lake's firework show began. It was
a very impressive display - even for the remote Northwoods.
After the fireworks, Project 7X resumed the show and played late into the
evening. Thanks to all you exuberant partiers that stayed right to the
end.
Thanks to everyone that contributed to making this event happen.
Again, thanks to North Shore Resort for accommodating the large group of 7X
people, and thanks to Cisco Lake Resort for having us. We're hoping to
make it back next year.

4th of July with Project 7X at Cisco
Lake Resort - Watersmeet, Michigan
This will be a very cool event!!! Project 7X will be venturing up
to the Northwoods to appear at Cisco Lake Resort's 4th of July Celebration -
on Tuesday, July 4.
Cisco
Lake Resort is located in Watersmeet, Michigan - about 7 hours north of
Chicago.
Cisco Lake Resort will be open all day for those that want to come and
party on the lake for the day. Food and beverages are available at the
resort's bar and restaurant. There is NO ADMISSION CHARGE for the
music and fireworks.
Visitors can come by car or by boat. The resort is located on the
northern shore of Cisco Lake - on the Cisco Chain.
The music begins at 8:30pm. Joining Project 7X is special guest
Dale Nordsby.
Dale will perform a set of country, folk and bluegrass favorites. Then
Project 7X will take the stage and play until the fireworks at 10:00.
After the fireworks, Project 7X will return to close out the evening.
Due to a prior commitment, Vern (drums) won't be able to join the rest of
the guys - we'll miss you man! But our good friend Johnny
DeMarco (Risk, Fabulous Janes) will be sitting in for the evening.
A flyer of the event can be downloaded by the following link -
4th of July Flyer.
(PDF Format)
We hope to see you there! For directions, please use the following
link to
Mapquest.
***** Very Important Notes on
Directions *****
First...the Mapquest map incorrectly indicates that Cisco
Lake Resort is located on "Big Lake" instead of "Cisco Lake." So don't let that
cause any confusion! Secondly...we found the Mapquest directions from
Chicago really take the round-about way to Cisco Lake Resort. We
suggest you first get the directions to Watersmeet, Michigan - then get
directions from Watersmeet to the resort, which is located at N3994 Cisco
Lake Road, Watersmeet, Michigan.
If you have additional questions, please contact Project 7X through the
online form on the Contact page.

Project 7X Show Prep and Rehearsals Near
Completion
New CD in Production
Now that Vern has come on board, the guys are just about finished with
their initial rehearsals. The upcoming shows for the Fall and Winter will
soon be announced.
"We just had a full-volume rehearsal with Vern last weekend, and man are
we loud," Scott said. Obviously, the group was not practicing the acoustic
version of the show.
As for recording, Scott and Steve are scheduled to begin initial
production on the first Project7X audio CD.
"What we're talking about doing is to have 10 songs on the CD from the
show - one from each year of the decade," Scott explained. "Hopefully
the production
shouldn't take too long because all the core structures of the songs were
produced in ProTools when I arranged the show - and we've got all the
parts worked out from the rehearsals. So Steve and I will probably
start with the guitar parts - then record Sam and Vern at the same time -
then finish with vocals."
