In the days that followed September 11th, the terrifying realization that
our world had changed touched all Americans. Regardless of who you spoke to,
each person was shocked and deeply effected.
However, in the face of this terrible shift in our world, I began to witness
something truly amazing. The cold barrier between strangers, I had so often
seen, was somehow dissipating. There was a unity - a bond between people,
that in my life I had never expected to see. In some way, the world had
become warmer as so many Americans embraced the fact that we are indeed all
Americans - and we had been forced to remember what that really means.
I know that no one alive on that day will ever forget those sad images of
destruction and senseless waste. But as we recall that darkness which took
place 10 years ago, let us also remember a time that we stood together as a
united people.
I produced this song a long time ago on the 1 year anniversary of 9/11.
Just recently, I have added images and posted it on YouTube.

Brothers, Here Today So much lost that sad September day
The wasted lives and innocence
So quickly swept away
At the hands of madness
Too dark to understand
As the shadows spread in terror
To stain the promised land
Then I'm walking through the streets
With grief and fear
Reasons for this painful tragedy are nowhere near
But in every stranger's face I see
A sorrow that we share
And I start to see it shining through
I see it everywhere
We're not strangers anymore
No we're brothers here today
Bonded by the freedom
And the flag that we both wave
There might be differences between us
But I don't see them anymore
All that I can see is that we're
Brothers here today
Yesterday there wasn't much to say
I could walk right by you without a glance your way
But we're somehow now united
In a cause that's all our own
And despite the fear and uncertainty
We do not stand alone
We're not strangers anymore
No we're brothers here today
Bonded by the freedom
And the flag that we both wave
There might be differences between us
But I don't see them anymore
All that I can see is that we're
Brothers here today
There might be a thing or two
That we forgot along the way
But in the face of night
We're going to stand as one
Till we see the light of day
We're not strangers anymore
No we're brothers here today
Bonded by the freedom
And the flag that we both wave
There might be differences between us
But I don't see them anymore
All that I can see is that we're
Brothers here today
